Introduction  

I. Research a Criminal Case. This case must have cycled through the entire Criminal Justice System. This means the offender was arrested, charged, appeared before a Judge, was found guilty, and/or plead guilty. The offender must be sentenced to probation, and/or ordered to serve a custodial sanction in county jail and/or prison. There are 34 prisons in the State of California that are filled with inmates. There are also several Bureau of Prisons in California. You may select a criminal case in any State, however, you must be able to access the details of the offense.

II. Summarize the facts of the case (who, what, where, when, and how)-Refrain from using bullets- Paraphrase the case information in your own words. *****You may not select any case that was reviewed during the course. 

Investigation: summarize the investigative process-note which law enforcement agency investigated the case (include the types of evidence gathered in the case etc.)

Trial and/or guilty plea

Sentencing-address the sentence ordered by the Court

Discuss the correctional process for the offender
