Personal Statement

Please find the attached instructions that you can follow to prepare a Personal Statement :

Must be a word document or a pdf format where the text can be copied to check for plagiarism. The Personal Statement should consist of a 500-1000 word essay addressing the following four questions:

Your personal statement should consist of a one or two-page letter indicating your motivation for seeking entrance to the program. Your statement should comment upon your personal and career goals, the expectations you have for the program in relation to the achievement of your goals, and the strengths you feel you can bring to the program.

Please include a list of all global experiences or interactions with multi-cultural groups, whether personal or work-related, volunteer or paid.

Guiding questions for the personal statement (please respond to all):

Why do you wish to enroll in the Global Leadership program?

What sector do you work in or wish to work in? How is this program relevant to your career goals in this sector?

What work experiences have you had (paid and/or volunteer) that required you to exercise leadership responsibility?

What multi-cultural, international or overseas experiences have you had (work/pleasure)?

What academic courses and/or training have you done that relate to development of leadership/management skills, cross-cultural communication, international development, humanitarian aid or international education? (Indicate if these have been taken at Royal Roads University).

What experience have you had with distance education and self-directed study?

What other special strengths or experiences do you bring to the program?
