Some, however, feel that they need additional policies to protect them above and beyond the standard coverage. 2. If a provider has a million-dollar personal malpractice policy, they might not become a target for patients and lawyers. I believe as long as a healthcare provider is doing his/her job right. They wont get sued. According to Burkin, the most important factor in many of their cases beside the negligence itself.
