Respond to the following post:
In the HBO show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the host represented climate change as a factual event caused by humans. As a comical late-night show, John Oliver suggested that data gathered from polling United States citizens regarding whether climate change is real shows 1 in 4 doesn’t believe in man-made global warming and then states that the poll “doesn’t matter.” Furthermore, John Oliver on global warming says instead of debating on “whether or not it exists, but what we should do about it.” He believes that there is a misrepresentation from the media between individuals who believe in global warming and those who do not. Typically the only individual advocating for the idea that human beings are in fact adding to global warming in the media is Bill Nye. To drive home his point, the host holds a make-shift debate to represent the actual percentage, roughly 97% of scientists, believing in climate change by bringing in 97 scientists to debate against 3 individuals who don’t believe in human-made global warming.
