Directions for Completing the Assessment
Term 3: Annotated Bibliography
Now that you have an idea of the topic you would like to focus on for your educational leadership project, you should begin collecting research articles and scholarly books on your topic. To help you explore various types of sources, you should find one source related to your topic for each of the following types: a peer review journal, a course text, a professional organization website, a professional organization publication, and a government/department of education/school or district website. You will submit an annotated bibliography for 5 of these sources (you should have at least 20 sources for the final product). Below are the specifications for each component.

Annotated Bibliography
1) Include the reference citation for your source in APA format.
2) In your own words and in a narrative format, include a summary of the following:
a) Peer review journal
i) Author(s) main argument (what are the authors looking at in this article?)
ii) Research questions
iii) Data and methods (What information do the authors use to answer their research questions, and how do they do it?)
iv) Main findings/conclusion
b) Course Text
i) Author(s) main argument (what are the authors looking at in this text?)
ii) Main findings/conclusion
c) Professional Organization Website
i) Main vision/mission of the organization
ii) Available resources from the organization
iii) Available data from the organization
d) Professional Organization Publication
i) Author(s) main argument (what are the authors looking at in this article?)
ii) Research questions (if applicable)
iii) Data and methods (What information do the authors use to answer their research questions and how do they do it?)
iv) Main findings/conclusion
e) Government/Department of Education/School District Website
i) Available data from the organization
ii) Relevant laws/policies
3) For each source, include a paragraph or two about how this source will help you in your educational leadership project.
