You will create a Family Newsletter for families in your classroom.
Create a visually pleasing 3-page newsletter. The information should be presented in statements, bullets, short paragraphs, etc. and divided by boxes or other means to make it easy-to-read and visually appealing. You should include some graphics. Look at these Google images for ideas, NOT ALL OF THEM ARE GOOD EXAMPLES:

Your textbook is the resource you must use to write the content (with the exception of #4).
Must be included:
1. Heading with your teacher name/age/classroom (content of your letter must be appropriate for this age group)
2. Information on why it is important for families to be engaged in their children’s learning and how they can be engaged (what does family engagement look like?)
3. Simple learning at home activities that families can do with their children for each of these subject areas:
- Please do a sample activity for each subject
- math
- reading
- writing
- health, nutrition / gross motor activities
These activities must be short, fun, and simple with few or no materials needed. It is not homework that children must bring back.
4. Select one topic of interest to families from this list:
-
- getting children to bed on time/importance of rest
- healthy meals/nutrition (getting them to eat healthy)
- television/video game/screen time monitoring
