Discussion #3 involves sharing three (3) techniques you use to study for classes. An example could be flashcards, outlining the chapter in the book or studying with a group?
student initial: JRD
First technique I use to study for classes are my powerpoint notes. I usually print out handouts from powerpoint every class the day before so that it’s easy for me to keep everything on track with my notes, instead of scribbling on the computer because there’s bunch of them that I cannot just sometimes keep on track with my notes. (I just wish most handouts are black and white only because ink is expensive haha) I get more overwhelmed studying in the computer so I print them all out and it’s easier for me to look for my notes. I know it’s a lot papers to print out but it helps me better to add notes in. I use the book for my reference and add important information on my handouts and highlight all the “hints” that needs to focus on. I have a binder for each class so when I print out all my handouts it goes to each one and I think that will help me to study for finals.
Second, I watch videos on some certain class that I need more visuals (head and neck, embryology, oral anatomy) and also sometimes I print out pictures from the book with parts and write most of each definitions. It’s a lot work as well and it takes time but that’s the only way I can understand the sequence or I would make my own notes.
The last technique and my last option are flashcards. I rarely do flashcards because it takes so much time for me to write everything down and I would only do it if I have extra time. I’ve tried it from the beginning though. But ebook is actually worth it to use as my study guide too to make quick flashcards, which totally helps while I’m reading.
