Part 1 (Research and Literature Review Based)

In this part of the integrated project, you are supposed to undertake detailed literature review of journal articles (mainly review articles), conference papers, published reports, books and book chapters and other relevant credible resources about the topics shown below. The scope of the review shall be as stated here under.

Adsorption of gases, toxic heavy metals, dyes and toxic organic chemicals

-Principle of operation and mechanisms

-Various examples of adsorbents and adsorption equipment(technologies)

-Factors affecting the process (pH, temperature, contact time, concentration, etc.)

-Equilibrium Isotherm models (Langmuir, Freundlich, Themkin, etc.)

-Kinetics of adsorption (first order, second order, etc.)

-General design principles

-Conclusion, recommendation and future direction.
