Dental volunteering at highschool: I participated in a volunteer program to educate inner-city high schools in Chicago about the importance of oral hygiene. I was responsible for setting up a pop-up booth in the high school and, later on, would interact with individual students and speak on ways they can improve their oral hygiene routines and the benefits of preventive care. An opportunity that gave me the experience and insight into how I can one day explain such materials to my patients. An enriching opportunity allowed me to educate the youth of Chicago on pursuing a healthier lifestyle.
Dental shadowing:I was responsible for making appointments and getting patients ready for dental procedures. I sterilized and sanitized equipment, set up instrument trays, prepared supplies, and assisted with dental operations. In addition, I took excellent care of patients and kept track of treatment information in the patient’s medical records.
Community volunteering: I was responsible for assembling and distributing food care packages, clothing essentials, and fresh drinking water to Chicago’s underprivileged neighborhoods. As a volunteer in this position, I interacted with numerous individuals and developed a great sense of compassion and giving for the underserved. A great opportunity that has driven me to continue in the pursuit of benefiting my fellow community members.
Community Volunteering:I was a volunteer for my local prayer center that participated in numerous charity events giving food care packages to the local community and international crises worldwide. I mainly assembled food care packages for the local community. In addition, I lent out any assistance needed to the adolescent programs that the prayer center sponsors for the youth in the area. My contribution to the youth programs would range from setting up outdoor events, preparing snacks/meals, and running errands to gathering supplies for the events that were to take place.
Community Volunteering: – Team member for multiple different youth-targeted programs and events. – Constant communication between organizing members and head committees of different programs.
– Organize activities, crafts, sports, storytime to over 150 youth from ages 6- 20 on a weekly basis.
– Attend philanthropy events, field trips, and sporting trips for the youth.
– Being a personal example for the community’s youth and youth leaders in public and private life
