Logical Fallacies:

Review the Logical Fallacies handout. In one paragraph, explain what logical fallacies are and discuss why you might want to look for them when you do a website evaluation and framing analysis. Give a couple of independent examples of logical fallacies that you might see in the “real world.”

The essay below compares two websites that belong to civil engineering companies. I chose this section since I have majored in Civil Engineering. The first company is JAS Engineering & Design, whose URL ishttp://www.jasedllc.com/about, and the second company is T.Y. Lin International Group is https://www.tylin.com/. JAS engineering company is a civil engineering limited liability company whose founder is Jon Shiancoe, P.E. The company is located in Maryland, Virginia and was started in 2006 (“Services – JAS Engineering,” n.d.). T.Y. Lin International Group was founded in 1912 by Tung-Yen Lin in Fuzhou, China. The company has offices both in Asia and America. From their websites, there are some similarities and differences. The T.Y international group is global, while the JAS engineering company is based in America. The T.Y international Group website is more detailed compared to the JAS engineering company ltd. The T.Y. international group has additional sections that include the regions it operates and news about the industry. The T.Y international group also has a career page. It’s a platform where the company advertises various vacant jobs and why one should work with the company (“T.Y. Lin International Group | About Us | Careers,” n.d.). It has all the Human Resource department contacts across the countries. It also indicates the procedures that one should follow. However, the JAS Engineering group lacks this section. The websites are relevant since they belong to civil engineering companies.
