As I continue to live my life as a spiritual being, seeing and experiencing strange things become my normality. However, some things I cannot comprehend, nor understand because they have no definition in the world of the living. When I’m on the verge of sleeping and being awake, that’s when I, as well as many, are vulnerable to experience the unnatural. One night, I was sleeping and I had a dream that I was outside at night arguing with my father, and suddenly, he turned around to me and handed me the keys to a car that looked like an ovalular rectangle and said, “Here are the keys to your car, let’s go.” He walked away, while I was standing there confused and shocked and the dream ended. The very next day, my mother, father, and I were in the car driving to the store and running errands. We stopped at a car place because my dad was looking for a car for himself. We walked in, and we were speaking with the owner of the dealership (which my dad knew well because he brought cars from them plenty of times before). My dad then handed me keys of a rectangular shape and said, “Here, these are the keys to the car,” and he walked out, while I was standing there confused and shocked. I went outside, and saw the car and it was really nice. I ended up buying the car and still use the car to this day.

I was born and raised in El Salvador, during my childhood I heard and read many stories on how people have seen many unnatural things. Mostly everyone in El Salvador strongly believed in God and Devil, they also believed on in other unnatural spirits and myths.

For Example “The Cadejo,” older people say that the cadejo was created by God to protect people from danger, it had the form of a white dog with red eyes. The cadejo was mostly seeing in the rural areas or mountains. But there was a black cadejo as well, this one was created by Satan to kill all horrible people who had done bad things to others.

Other people believed the white cadejo was to protect women and the black protected men. My grandma used to tell that her Dad used to see the black cadejo frequently, He believed he was protecting him from any type of danger.

If someone got so see the one of the cadejo blocking their way, they should turn around and away from the cadejo, because he is trying to save you from something bad . But if you try to confront the cadejo, he will attact the person instead.

I never saw the cadejo, but every time I walked alone at the forest or the mountains, I was always thinking. “what is I see the cadejo, which one will I see the white or the black,” deep inside me I really wanted to see the white cadejo and have the experience.
