1. In many current situations, persuasive language is used for negative messages. News outlets are constantly using persuasive language to persuade naive viewers of misinformation or negative messages. Advertisements target impressionable individuals by using persuasive language to convenience consumers that their product is a necessity. There is much importance in identifying and understanding when this type of being used, so viewers are not misled or persuaded to believe in false information. One way an author can encourage a negative message through persuasive language is by illustrating negative events, and the undesired outcomes that may follow if the readers chooses not to do the “right” thing. Such persuasion can be shown in writing through emotions like fear and anxiety, or upsetting statistics which highlight danger and problems. It’s imperative to identify such language because it is an attempt to win over the trust of those reading, so by realizing that, it allows the audience to look past those negative tactics, and create a true opinion, free of influence.

3.We see negatively intended persuasive language in our everyday lives. From political ad campaigns to even hate speech across social media. A lot of this hate intended communication is done for multiple reasons like defamation, to spread distaste, or even boredom. It’s important to identify when something is said for negative purposes because the statements are probably not even factual or being used within the right contexts. The biggest mode people use persuasive language with negative messages is a way to strike impacts and get their point across. As it appeals to the pathos of people it can motivate them into doing what the message incurs. For example, there are ads showing people of larger weights that could be advising you to eat more vegetables and even exercise more or else you would end up like them. Indicating “fat is unhealthy” which is a totally wrong message. There is a lot of weight when people use persuasive language for negative messages without enough backing and it’s important to recognize this type of communication in order to determine if what is being said is factual or not.
