The Purpose of this paper is to test the applicability and utility of a communication theory in an applied “real-world” context. This assignment requires that you select one communication theory mentioned in the textbook or in the lectures or discussion.

Tasks:

• Briefly describe the major assumption of this theory in about TWO pages. In the remainder of the paper (approximately 5 pages) you will describe your observations and experiences on the practical application of this theory.
• Write a detailed Report of your records describing incidents you have either experienced or observed in which the theory is applied in a “naturalistic” or “field” setting. These records will then be developed into the report on the application of the theory you have chosen. This report will describe the incidents and then provides analysis of how that theory can be used to explain, describe the incidents you have observed.
