Where does discrimination in hiring occur?
Class: at my college the average position has three rounds of screening before an offer is made to a finalist. If this is similar in other organizations, it makes me wonder, at what level does discrimination occur? For instance, some in this discussion have said it occurs at HR or committee level prior to hiring through the drafting of weak interview questions. Other have said, that it occurs in the first round with questions being asked that clearly violate federal law. Still others have said that it might come from the executive level with preferred candidates or even quotas. Thoughts?
