Corrections officers and probation officers routinely work with inmates/clients to balance their relgious reliefs with the requirements of the correctional facility or the terms of their probation. Every agency handles these challenges differently. Your task is locate information from or about three different agencies with regard to handling religious requests and practices. (As always, this does not need to be from your job or even from the State of Tennessee. It is interesting to see how others handle these situations.) Please post links to your three items and explain them to your classmates. Additionally, please consider the following:
How far is too far? Do some inmates receive “special treatment” based on their religious beliefs? Is there room for all the religions inside a correctional facility? Can a probation officer take into account a client’s religious beliefs without judging or giving extra leeway not afforded others?
