Utah Valley University Tri Fold Pamphlet Discussion

Create a pamphlet using any type of publisher software you choose to educate clients on a current patient safety issue.

For example:

• How aging adults can care for themselves at home
• Medication–polypharmacy and how a patient cannot make a self-medication error,
• Or other appropriate safety issues.

If you have a question about a specific topic, check with your instructor. It is recommended that you save your pamphlet as a PDF for submission.

Your pamphlet must include the following items:

1. At least five tips for preventive care for the patient.
2. Information that should be shared with family or caregivers.
3. Local resources in the community that might be available for this type of safety concern.
4. At least three APA-formatted references published within the last five years.

Tri-fold Pamphlet:

Create a TRI-FOLD pamphlet to educate clients on one of the following current patient safety issues:

Currently aging adult and how to care for his/herself at home

Medication-polypharmacy and how a patient cannot make a self-medication error

Fall prevention for the elderly at home

or other approved appropriate safety issues. If you have another topic you must seek approval from your faculty. Be sure that your pamphlet addresses a safety issue at home. No pamphlets will be accepted if related to hospital safety.

Your pamphlet must include the following items:

1. Include at least 5 tips for preventive care for the patient.
2. Include images that match each educational tip.
3. Be sure to state the importance of the education and tips.
4. Include information that should be shared with family or caregivers and explain importance.
5. Include local resources in the community that might be available for this type of safety concern. Note the resources are not your references.
6. Include at least 3 current (published less than 5 years ago to date) references, in APA format. Refs need to be on the Tri-fold pamphlet, not on separate page.
7. This must be a Tri-fold pamphlet. Please do not submit a handout or several pages of content. A tri-fold is one page that is double-sided.
